Cris Beard has been a Clear Lake resident since January 1959. Cris is the
son of Jane Beard, who taught in the Clear Lake school system until 1995. He
graduated Clear Lake High School class of 1976. Cris lives here with his wife,
Michiko, and son, Clarke, a junior at CLHS. Cris and Michiko have two grown
daughters, Rachel and Grace, and one granddaughter, Guinevere Jane. Cris enjoys
working at CLAW because it gives him opportunities to connect with Clear Lakers
as they come in to use the facility
Denise Rud grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and graduated from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Fergus Falls Minnesota. Attended travel school, and worked for the airlines for 30 years! She has four children, and 5 grandchildren. In the summer time Denise enjoys gardening, or "playing in the weeds and dirt" Denise says she loves the diversity of the members and activities at the Wellness Center. Fun Fact about Denise: She was the Oats LeGrand Athlete of the year during high school and is distantly related to Gilman Rud (Google it)
I have lived in the Clear Lake/Ventura area all my life. I am married and we have 5 children between us. My 91 year old mother lives with us. I am a retired RN. I am fortunate to live across the street from the Wellness Center so my commute is a 3 minute walk. I enjoy meeting new people and sports. I am a volunteer at Clear Lake Schools with the basketball, track, softball and volleyball programs.
Tom Fey has been a Clear Lake resident since 1982. Tom and his wife Mary were both educators in
north Iowa and have been retired for 12 and 7 years respectively. They have two grown children and
five grandchildren. Tom enjoys golf and spending time on the lake as well as traveling during the winter
months and spending time with family. The Clear Lake Athletics and Wellness Center is an exceptional
facility offering activities for all ages and opportunities to enhance physical and mental well-being for its
members. The Wellness Center also enhances social aspects through connectivity for all Clear Lakers
and other area residents.
